A home theatre system allows an individual to experience a film as
the Director truly intended. The advancement of both audio and video
components in recent years has meant that the dynamic impact of the
sound, and the film-like quality of the picture, provides a dramatic
overall effect that cannot be duplicated in large auditoriums.
To achieve the impact required in a Home Theatre it is essential that
only the highest quality components are used. Knowing which components
to select and where to find them is where the expertise of Colbach
Hadley comes in.
Starting with the source, the film itself, this is best transmitted
via DVD - Digital Versatile Disc. The better the DVD player- the better
the sound and pictures. A DVD player can also play audio CD's.
This source is then fed to an audio processor that offers Dolby Digital,
DTS and Dolby Pro-Logic surround processing. Again, the better the
unit - the better the sound and pictures. The processor splits the
sound into six separate audio paths and sends the picture and audio
signals to their various end components.
A Digital Video projector provides stunning film-like quality images
from video, DVD, computer images, laserdisc, TV, and satellite with
a picture 6 feet wide for a small room up to 16 feet wide for the
largest rooms. A motorised screen will raise or lower as the projector
is switched on ensuring it is not an overpowering distraction in an
everyday room. The projector can be mounted on the floor or the ceiling
or even hidden away.
Each of the six sound channels - Left Front, Centre, Right Front,
Left Rear, Right Rear and Subwoofer- have their own individual high
power amplification. Huge independent powers supplies and over specified
amplifiers ensure that the system is never stressed guaranteeing no
distortion or clipping.
The front speakers are Bi-polar i.e. they fire out of the front and
the back. This ensures the spacious sound that is needed for Home
Theatre. The Centre channel provides the dialogue. The rear speakers
provide the surround effects. A sound can literally come from any
point in the room. The purpose of the subwoofer(s) is to provide the
very low bass sounds that you can feel as well as hear. This gives
true impact during exciting action moments.
The final touches are custom designed lighting systems, touch-screen
remote control, motorised curtains, soundproofing and installation.
